Throughout the week, participants will experience the thrill of live performance, and will gain understanding in all facets of production, both onstage and behind-the-scenes. Participants will study singing, stage movement, dance, costuming, set design, prop design, and publicity, and will participate in theater games and improvisation exercises. The Youth Opera Experience will culminate with a performance, with the program participants taking on roles both onstage and backstage. The performance will be open to family and friends of the opera program as well as to the general public.

Youth Opera Experience will inspire a deeper appreciation and understanding of opera and the performing arts and provide young people with a sense of empowerment through the arts. The program is designed for youth with a range of backgrounds in the performing arts, from those who have no experience to those with a strong background.
