Delaware Valley Opera

Just as in music there are times to rest, we at DVO are compelled to rest.

Due to COVID-19 and our concern for our singers, orchestra musicians, artists and audience, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Summer Season. Or rather…we are postponing our Summer productions until Summer of 2021. No one involved escapes disappointment but like so many organizations, it is the right thing to do under the circumstances.

Optimistically we are still planning on offering our Holiday event, the opera “The Gift of the Magi” (Conte) the second weekend in December.

With cancellation of our productions this summer, we have time to work on our infrastructure and fundraising and make plans for moving forward once we are free of this crisis. 2021 will be the 35th year of the DVO, so we will have lots to celebrate when we return to the stage next summer. We may not be as visible as in past seasons, but we are still here and working hard to secure our ability to continue to bring talented and exciting artists to the community.

We look forward to sharing performances with you again soon. Toward that end, please consider becoming a member and supporting the DVO with whatever you can afford – no amount is too small.

All of us at the DVO send you our very best wishes for good health and well-being

Sincerely,
Board of Directors
Delaware Valley Opera Co.
